About the Pricing Submission

Every four years, we are required to develop a Pricing Submission that outlines the prices we propose to apply for that regulatory period and sets out the service levels and values that customers can expect to receive from us.

Our Submission was submitted to the Essential Services Commission (ESC) on 28 September 2023.

The ESC will now assess our proposals across its prices, services, planned expenditures and other areas for the 2024-28 regulatory period, and engage with our customers to gather their thoughts.

The ESC’s water pricing framework provides strong incentives for us to deliver better value for customers, and we must demonstrate how we’ve considered the services that our customers want.

In order to develop our Pricing Submission, we engaged with our customers to find out what their priorities, needs and concerns are when it comes to the level of service our customers receive.

The ESC is now assessing GMW's submission against a legal framework before issuing a final determination.

This includes consulting stakeholders at each stage of the process, starting from the initial lodgement leading up to the final decision and price determination.

    Service Plans

    In 2021, we began engaging with different customer groups through surveys, online focus groups, and in-person workshops to help us understand the issues that matter most to them. The feedback we received helped us develop our service plans, which forms the base of our Pricing Submission.

    Pricing Submission engagement begins

    In 2022, our customer engagement adapted to begin focusing on our 2024-28 Pricing Submission. Our engagement with customers on the Service Plans had already established a foundation for further detailed engagement on key priorities that our customers identified previously.

    Draft Pricing Submission 2024-28 submitted to the ESC

    GMW will submit its draft Pricing Submission 2024-28 to the ESC at the end of September.

    Draft Pricing Submission released for comment

    The ESC will review and release the draft submission and their determination for further engagement with our customers.

    Pricing Submission approved

    Final Pricing Submission 2024-28 approved by the ESC.

    Pricing Submission 2024-28 begins

    New prices and service levels come into effect on 1 July 2024.
