About the project

The Goulburn-Murray Water Resilient Water Program team is currently investigating the feasibility of works to replace old and inefficient stock and domestic and dam fill services in northern Victoria.

Funded by the Australian Government through its Resilient Rivers Water Infrastructure Program, the Timmering, East Loddon and West Loddon Domestic and Stock Modernisation Feasibility Projects will investigate the feasibility of replacing multiple high-loss, low-service domestic and stock water delivery systems in these areas (see map below).

Details of the funding are available at the Federal Financial Relations - Resilient Rivers Water Infrastructure website.

The feasibility study will be completed by June 2025, with outcomes to be assessed for capital funding.

What’s proposed and who benefits

The proposed works are anticipated to benefit an estimated 120 customers and will include resolving service arrangements to each property and where necessary reconnecting individual properties to GMW channels with a stock and domestic tapping point.

In Timmering, the Resilient Water Program will investigate the feasibility of constructing a single GMW-owned pumped pipeline (approximately 16km in length).

In East and West Loddon, where reconnection works are required, all infrastructure will be privately owned (including solar driven pumps and connecting pipelines and tanks where required).
